Virtual video teletherapy
Individual therapy can help with a number of issues, including sleep difficulties, anxiety, grief/loss, and gaining insight into our behaviors, our relationships, and our strengths. You can now access individual therapy from the comfort of your own home or place of business, via secure virtual video teletherapy.
During the first session, I will work with you to help develop a plan for treatment type/style and modality that best fits your needs. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Relational and Dynamic therapies, and Motivational Interviewing. We will work together in a collaborative manner to decide what is best for your treatment. The expected course of treatment is typically 5-7 sessions and can be done virtually.
If you are having difficulty sleeping, contact me about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, or CBT-I. CBT-I is a subset of general CBT and has been determined to be the gold standard in treating insomnia. It is an approved and evidence-based method that focuses on changing one's sleep habits, thoughts and perceptions about sleep, and misconceptions about sleep that perpetuate insomnia. The National Institute of Health concludes it is a safe, all-natural, and effective technique that effectively manages chronic insomnia and it's effects. CBT-i is the only scientifically proven non-drug insomnia treatment. It improves sleep in 70-80% of patients and is more effective than sleeping pills, without the side effects that sleep medications can have. For more information on CBT-I, please see the Individual Therapy & CBT-I section below.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, or CBT-i, is a subset of general CBT and has been determined to be the gold standard in treating insomnia.
CBT-i can be started while on, or off sleeping medications and individuals can come to CBT-i with goals of coming off of their sleeping medication after the treatment and/or staying on the sleeping medications after the treatment. All that is asked is that there is no change to the current medication routine while CBT-i is being conducted, to minimize any confounding elements during the behavior change program.
An individual coming in for CBT-i can expect to attend anywhere from 1-6 weekly sessions lasting for 50 minutes. Many individuals see improvement in their sleep in the first 3 weeks.
The program includes the following:
-A comprehensive sleep assessment and interview
-Tailored and personalized sleep therapy plan
-Weekly sleep diaries completed by participant to gather data about individual sleep patterns
-Psychoeducation around evidence-based interventions to promote healthy improvements in sleep
-Relapse prevention plan to maintain change over time and upon completion of treatment course
-Auricular (Ear) Acupressure Bead therapy as an optional complimentary treatment to promote wellness, relaxation, and sleep

C-Suite Sleep Therapy & Organizational Productivity Consultation
C-Suite Sleep Therapy consultations are often extremely useful for those with high-powered, high-stress roles within small or large organizations. Executives in the C-suite may suffer from being unable to quiet their minds before bed and may be plagued with to-do lists, stressors, and worries given their high-powered positions. Being unable to slow down the momentum from their busy and often stressful days can take a toll on performance and happiness in the workplace, which in turn, can affect employees and teams operating below this executive within the organization. Sleep Therapy consultations that often include mindfulness, meditation and relaxation training can offer effective techniques that can be easily learned and practiced with C-Suite executives to help enhance performance.
Dr. B can also consult with your organization around productivity in the workplace that may be affected by difficulties with sleep, overall team wellness, or heightened stress in the workplace. Sleep wellness workshops, consultations, and immersive experiences can easily be brought to the workplace in order to bring your team and coworkers the tools they need to optimize their sleep for peak creativity, performance, and happiness.
