What can I expect from treatment?Dr. Bancroft has a kind, caring, and compassionate presence and works hard to make her clients feel welcome and at ease. Whether this is your first time in therapy or you're a seasoned client, she will make sure your questions are answered, your concerns addressed, and that you have a personalized and tailored sleep treatment plan that works for you. Depending on the types of treatment you choose and find most helpful, sessions can range from 1-6 weeks in duration, or longer. She aims to collaborate with you and meet your needs as best as possible with the services offered. Dr. Bancroft values her clients' time and aims to utilize their time effectively and respectfully. She is prompt with appointment times and session scheduling. Each session lasts around 50 minutes.
What are Dr. Bancroft's qualifications?Dr. Bancroft is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of New York. She completed a Psy.D. (doctorate in clinical psycology) degree as well as her M.S. (Masters in Science) degree in clinical psychology. She has been in clinical training settings since 2010 and has completed doctoral internship and postdoctoral residency trainings. Her internship and previous training focused general clinical areas with specialties in substance use, trauma, psychological assessment, and chronic/severe mental illness. Her postdoctoral training was a specialized residency focused on Health Psychology and the intersection of mental health/substance use & primary care. She has earned and holds certificates in CBT-I, Motivational Interviewing, CBT-SUD, and NADA auricular acudetox. All of the training programs Dr. Bancroft attended are accredited by the American Psychological Association.
What are Dr. Bancroft's hours?Dr. Bancroft has convenient weeknight and Saturday hours to accommodate working professionals. With the recent addition of virtual teletherapy appointments, Dr. Bancroft can now accommodate appointments by secure video platform, allowing for more availability and flexibility with hours. Please reach out to Dr. Bancroft with your needs, and she will do her best to accommodate.
Where is the practice located?With the recent addition of virtual teletherapy appointments, Dr. Bancroft can now accommodate appointments from the comfort of your own home, by secure video platform. For in person visits, Dr. Bancroft's office is conveniently located on Broadway between 21st and 22nd streets. Located near the flat-iron building and in close viscinity to a number of subway, bus, train, and path stops- this location should be accessible for most NYC dwellers, especially those in the flat-iron district. The building has 24 hour security at the main entrance and the suite is equipped with a waiting room and restroom. There is no eating/drinking/telephone use in the waiting room.
Does Dr. Bancroft take insurance?Dr. Bancroft is currently only accepting private pay clients and does not participate in any insurance panels. However, if your plan offers out-of-network coverage (usually a PPO plan) for outpatient behavioral health or mental health, Dr. Bancroft will be happy to provide you with a super-bill at the end of the month that you can submit to your insurance plan for partial or total reimbursement. Dr. Bancroft's visits are also typically eligible for HSA/Flex spending plans, so please check with your individual provider to verify.
What are the fees for treatment?Dr. Bancroft's fees are determined by her specialized experience, years of practice, credentials, community standards, and the needs of her clients. A limited number of reduced fee slots may be available for individuals who are experiencing financial hardship. As per clinical standards, there is a 24 hour cancellation policy. Failure to keep any scheduled appointments without 24 hour prior notice will incur fees, outlined in Dr. Bancroft's office policies.
