Courtney Bancroft, PsyD is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of New York with over a decade of experience at some of the nation's greatest hospitals and institutions. Her goal is to make sure each individual client receives the best, most effective, and personalized treatment to match their individual circumstances, values, and styles in an all-natural and holistic way. Dr. B is also a nationally certified acudetox specialist and utilizes auricular acudetox bead and magnet therapy as a complementary service for interested clientele.
Dr. Bancroft completed her clinical internship training and postdoc at Yale University's School of Medicine, where she specialized in Clinical Health Psychology, specifically sleep, addiction, and the intersection of health and mental health. She graduated from Pepperdine University’s Psy.D. program and received her Master’s and Undergraduate degrees from Loyola University in Maryland.
Dr. Bancroft's clinical approach is based on her ability to combine efficacious and proven all-natural treatments with being fully present, compassionate, and understanding when working with her clients. She creates personalized and tailored treatment plans with each and every client to assist them with their goals and values around sleep. Ultimately, she helps others improve their sleep by teaching them long-lasting and durable skills that will last them a lifetime, while encouraging them to foster insight into the contexts that put them at risk for insomnia. She strongly values the idea of client-centered, holistic treatment and the importance of focusing on wellness and growth.
Courtney’s clinical expertise goes well beyond insomnia and sleep wellness to include certifications and training in the specialty areas of substance use, dual-diagnosis conditions, behavior change, motivational interviewing, chronic pain, the intersection of chronic pain and opioids , smoking cessation, auricular acupuncture for detoxification and stress relief, and responding to patients’ disclosures of trauma. She has also been well-trained in more traditional clinical skills that span the cognitive, mindfulness, and dynamic realms, and has expertise in the areas of cognitive, personality, and forensic assessment.
